Matt LeGrow Matt LeGrow was the first friend I ever had that had a MD disease too. His firm teenage voice greeted me every morning when I would get on the bus for my Early Childhood classes. Matt was like any typical teenage boy...he loved football. I can remember going to the Tiger football games and see he and his family sitting down near the front. He would talk to me about school, football and how I was doing wearing my eye patch. Matt always thought of others first. Sadly Matt lost his battle with a horrible monster called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but before he left us, he was able to accomplish a major goal he had set for himself...to graduate from junior high. I miss our visits Matt, but through a lot of help from your friends down here...I certainly hope that all of our battles will make a difference!! The following picture is of Matt receiving his diploma at his Junior High graduation. Ella Jo Skipper Duncan Ella Jo Skipper Duncan was my grandmother. She suffered for many years at the hands of Myasthenia Gravis. Sadly we lost her in 1998. Due to her first hand knowledge of MG, my family was better able to understand how to cope with the problems I was going through. Even though there were times she would not be able to do much, she was always in good spirits. I feel a special bond with her, because I know she knew how I felt and what I was going through! Thanks Granny Jo for living a life with MG, so that my family was better prepared to cope with me! I miss you so much!!!!! Harry Miles Rhyne Even though I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Rhyne, I feel as though I knew him. Ironically his mother, Betty, was good friends with my grandmother when my mother was born and assisted my grandmother to the hospital for mom's birth. Sadly Mr. Rhyne just lost a tremendous battle with a terrible neuromuscular disease, ALS - commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Harry grew up in Linden and graduated from Linden - Kildare High School. He has lived most of his adult life in the Austin area. Mr. Rhyne you will be greatly missed.
